Omaha Police officers were dispatched to the Kwik Shop at 3606 Leavenworth Street for a report of a robbery this morning at 11:05 a.m. Officers arrived in the area and spoke with witnesses who stated the suspect was a white male, 6 feet tall, tan jacket, red hoodie, and he was armed with a knife.
The suspect demanded money, alcohol, and cigarettes and fled the area on foot. The suspect was last seen at 610 S. 32nd Ave. Robbery investigators were on scene and conducted follow-up. Investigators were able to determine that the suspect lives in apartment #5 and he was identified as 47 year old Mark Bart.
Investigators made contact with Bart and were able to talk the suspect out of the apartment. Bart was taken into custody at that time. A search of the apartment was completed and evidence was recovered from the scene linking Bart to the robbery.
Bart was booked at Douglas County Corrections on one count of Robbery and one count of Use of a Weapon (not gun).
