Standoff situation in Northwest Omaha with robbery suspects ends peacefully, three arrested

OPD Press Release: On Thursday, January 5, 2017, at 7:05 am, officers were dispatched 4206 N. 52nd Street for a robbery of a taxi cab driver.  The victim states she was dispatched 15211 Edna Street in Sarpy County to pick up a fare.  She was met by a Hispanic female and two black males who entered her cab.

The victim drove the suspects to the alley behind 4206 N. 52nd Street to drop the suspects off.  Upon completing the fare one of the male suspects struck the victim on the back of the head with a blunt object, demanded money and fled the area on foot.

After interviewing the victim, Officers completed a follow up investigation and determined the suspects were at 5418 Northwest Drive. Robbery investigators arrived and along with patrol officers established a perimeter on the residence while a search warrant was obtained.

While the house was under surveillance a male suspect inside the house called and reached out to an outside contact and advised that he was armed and if police entered he would shoot them.

The Omaha Police SWAT team arrived on scene and assumed command of the scene.  SWAT was able to talk the suspects out of the house and all three were taken into custody without incident.  The suspects were identified as:

  • Delyahn Hill, 18 y/o
  • Manuel Soto 17 y/0
  • Angeleah James 16 y/o

A search warrant was completed at 5418 Northwest Drive and two handguns and one long gun was recovered from the scene.  All suspects will be charged as adults.  Hill and Soto are both charged with one count of Robbery and one charge of Use of a Weapon.  James is charged with one count of Robbery.

Update: The standoff situation in north central Omaha has ended peacefully with several people in police custody.  The suspects barricaded themselves into a house after a robbery of a cab driver.


Omaha Police are surrounding a house in north central Omaha near 54th & Northwest Drive, just south of 52nd & Ames Avenue, near the Omaha Home for Boys.

At least 8 police cruisers are on scene and more are en route to assist with blocking traffic.

OFD Medic 41 has been put on standby in the area.
