Reckless driving, speeding, no seat belts exacerbate injuries in head-on wreck

A speeding reckless driver with a suspended licence caused a head-on wreck that sent himself and two others, including a teenager, to the ER.

On Thursday August 10th at about 11:40 p.m. officers and medics were dispatch to a personal injury crash near 45th & Spaulding Street.

A 2000 Chevy Silverado was northbound on 45th Street when it struck a southbound 2004 Chevy Impala nearly head-on. A 17 y/o driver had to extricated from the Impala which took about 15 minutes.

Occupants of both vehicles were transported to Nebraska Medicine with serious, non-life threatening injuries by OFD Medics.

Speed by the Silverado is considered a primary factor in the cause of this wreck.

The driver and lone occupant of the Impala was identified as Caprazaya Evans of Omaha. Evans was being treated for serious chest injuries.

The driver of Silverado was identified as 32 year old Jeffrey O. Schoville of Omaha. Schoville is being treated for a broken ankle and was cited for willful reckless and driving during suspension.

The passenger of the Silverado was identified as 39 year old Ruth Rodriguez-Schoville of Omaha. Rodriguez – Schoville was being treated for cuts and abrasions.
