Protesters in Downtown Omaha marched today airing grievances against President Donald Trump, immigration restrictions, fascism, Nazis, and other current events.
The protesters marched from roughly 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Downtown area near Gene Leahy Mall at 14th & Farnam Street. Protesters were heard chanting various phrases as well as jamming out to music being played from a stroller.
Omaha Police provided a significant presence in the area, which including Officers from the Uniform Patrol Bureau, Mounted Patrol, Traffic Unit, Gang Unit, Mobile Command, ERU, the MERV, and ABLE1.
There were a few tense moments after a scuffle between civilians and protesters broke out. Police arrived on scene moments later and calmed both sides.
Police reported no arrests or other major disturbances.
