Firefighters battle vacant Northeast Omaha structure fire for over an hour

Omaha Firefighters battled a stubborn vacant structure fire in Northeast Omaha for over an hour today.

Firefighters were dispatched to 2805 Pinkney Street for a report of a structure fire at about 1:40 p.m.

Fire crews experienced heavy smoke and flame conditions upon initial fire attack and assumed a defensive firefighting posture soon after arrival.

Firefighters utilized deck gun monitors, aerial master streams, and hand lines for over one hour to contain and quench the fire.

Death, destruction, and funny stuff from the streets of Omaha. I'm not making this up.
