An Omaha Police Officer was seriously injured in a traffic accident around 10:15 PM Saturday evening at 60th & NW Radial Hwy. The officer was driving the vehicle when the accident occurred.
The officer was later transported to Nebraska Medicine in serious condition with large laceration to his head. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
A female driver of the other vehicle was transported via private auto to Nebraska Medicine to be treated for minor injuries.
Omaha Police Traffic Unit officers were called to the scene to investigate the cause of the accident.
The officer involved in the crash is Officer Chad Frodyma, a member of the Omaha Police Department Gang Unit. He is expected to be released from the hospital later today.
