Omaha firefighters save chickens from chicken coop fire


Omaha firefighters responded to a chicken coop fire Sunday night at 5618 Hickory Street. The fire was dispatched at 11:12 PM as a detached garage fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters from Omaha Fire Station 34 reported a 5ft by 5ft chicken coop fully involved on fire. The fire was quickly extinguished and two chickens were reported safe.

There are no indications at this time of a cause of the fire.
